Job Description:
Support the Building Principal in administering the various functions of the school.
This position is responsible for assisting the principal in providing leadership to promote expectations for high-level performance from staff and students. This individual will assist the principal in directing the implementation of district policies, and instructional programs, and managing the operation of all campus activities as well as providing for the students' overall well-being.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assume responsibility for supervision and administration of the school in the absence of the Principal.
- Nurture and sustain a culture of collaboration, trust, learning, and high expectations.
- Enforce discipline and attendance rules.
- Promote and protect the welfare and safety of students and staff.
- Supervise extracurricular activities as assigned.
- Evaluate certified and classified staff as assigned by the Principal.
- Counsel and guide students regarding personal, academic, vocational, or behavioral issues.
- Plan and lead professional development activities for teachers, administrators, and support staff.
- Prepare, maintain, or oversee the preparation and maintenance of attendance, activity, planning, or personnel reports and records.
- Participate in special education-related activities such as attending meetings and supporting special educators throughout the district.
- Organize and direct committees of specialists, volunteers, and staff to provide technical and advisory assistance for programs.
- Attend and represent the school and the district at community, state, and professional meetings as assigned.
- Collaboratively develop and implement a shared mission and vision.
- Collect and use data to identify goals, assess organizational effectiveness, and promote organizational learning.

- Adhere to all policies of the District.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal

Other Requirements:
- Must pass a preliminary criminal background and child maltreatment check.
- Appropriate personal and professional conduct at all times while around students, staff, and members of the public.
- Must have SoR Assessor's training or be willing to complete this training as soon as feasible.
- Must have a valid Arkansas license and be certified as a Building Principal.
Knowledge and Expertise:
- Administrative experience is preferred.
Work Environment:
Most job responsibilities for this position are performed in an indoor school environment that is temperature controlled (heated and cooled) according to the season. Noise levels are mostly low to moderate. This position is cognitively demanding and requires especially well-developed professional social skills and communication skills. This job position may experience periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
