The School-Based Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) is responsible for providing comprehensive mental health counseling services to students within the school setting. The LMSW supports the district’s mission by addressing barriers to learning, promoting social-emotional development, and facilitating student success. This position collaborates with administrators, teachers, families, and community resources to ensure students’ academic, behavioral, and emotional needs are met.

Provide individual and group counseling services to students experiencing academic, behavioral, social, or emotional concerns.

Conduct risk assessments and provide crisis intervention, including safety planning and coordination with appropriate district and community resources.

Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential records in accordance with state law, district policy, and professional ethical standards.

Consult with teachers, administrators, and staff to develop and implement strategies that support student growth and positive school climate.

Collaborate with parents/guardians to strengthen the home-school connection and provide resources to support student well-being.

Facilitate referrals to external mental health agencies and monitor follow-up services as appropriate.

Support the development and implementation of school- and district-wide programs addressing mental health awareness, social-emotional learning, and behavioral supports.

Provide professional learning opportunities for staff related to trauma-informed practices, resiliency, and student mental health.

Adhere to all state and federal confidentiality regulations, including FERPA and HIPAA, as well as the ethical standards of the counseling profession.

Perform other related duties as assigned by the Principal or Director of Student Services.

Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.

Current state licensure as a Licensed Master Social Worker Counselor (LMSW,) Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or equivalent.

Minimum of two (2) years of professional counseling experience, preferably in a school or child/adolescent setting.

Demonstrated knowledge of child development, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based counseling interventions.

Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to work effectively with diverse populations in a collaborative school environment.
